Why StudySmart?

Testimonials

Invaluable!

Georgie (son in year 8)

What this course teaches is so powerful. I was so proud of my son the next morning when he got in the car with a card detailing his to-do list or prioritised homework actions

Improved her attitude and confidence

Kerry-Ann (daughter in year 8)

I've seen a change in her attitude towards school since she completed the course. She is logically piecing together her study activities and feeling confident in her study for her upcoming maths exam

Perfect and extremely helpful

Alex (year 8 student)

I personally think this course was amazing and extremely helpful. Before the course I was easily distracted, disorganised and procrastinated. I was so overwhelmed starting high school - it was so different to primary school where you were given one home sheet each week, but in high school you are given homework tasks from different teachers every day. Through this course I have learnt how to stop procrastination and that there are other ways to study other than just reading over my notes.

Motivating

Harriet (year 8 student)

Everything in the course was well presented and the information was really helpful and motivating! I do a lot of sport and would always run out of time for studying. Now I am using my diary to prioritise times in the day to study and do my homework.

Sign me up

Nicholas (year 8 student)

I really enjoyed the course, particularly all the study tips in Module 4. If Carly creates another course I will definitely do it.

I still use these study skills at university

Madeleine (Bachelor of commerce, mechatronics, robotics and automation engineer student)

I still use the study skills that Carly taught me over 8 years ago to complete my university degree. At the time I was overwhelmed by high school and just didn't know where to start when it came to studying. Carly's teaching enabled me to grow from an average student to an accelerated student, and provided me with the resources to be efficient and effective in my study

FAQ

The course is aimed at year 7 to 9 students, to assist with the responsibility and leap as they transition from primary to high school. However, the course would be suitable for anyone looking to learn basic time management and organisational skills.

  • How long does the course go for?

The course consists of a series of videos, which total about 2 hours watch time. In addition to the videos there are activities and templates for the students to complete.

  • Over what time period should my child complete the course?

It is a self-paced course, so can be completed over any time period. However, I would recommend at least taking a break between each module so the content can sink in, there is time to practice implementing what they have learnt, and so they are focused when they return for the next module.

  • What if my child has questions or doesn't understand something?

If students or parents have any issues or questions they can contact me by sending an email to [email protected]

  • How is this different from a tutor?

Tutors are generally subject-specific, and help your child with the content of the class. This course is not subject specific, but applies to all subjects and non-school activities. This course promotes independence
